IFA Database - Frequently Asked Questions

Q. - Is the database available for outright purchase?

A. - Technically speaking NO but you can "rent" for unlimited use. This is simply to prevent anyone from re-selling our database which has taken many years to compile.

Q. - How many IFAs are listed?

A. - The database currently has over 12,000 IFAs listed but there are varying degrees of information on each.  The vast majority have all the information for a mail-merge or telesales campaign i.e. company name, address, telephone numbers and contact name.

Q. - How do you compare to other IFA Databases?

A. - There are only two commercially available databases of this size available. The other is more comprehensive they charge up to £900 per 1000 entries whilst we charge £349 for all 12,000+.

Q. - Does the database contain email addresses.

A. - Yes, there are currently around 5,000 entries with email addresses. However these change frequently and we do not guarantee the validity of email addresses. It is also up to the user to ensure that good practice is carried out when using this data. You should never send an email without first contacting the IFA by telephone for permission to do so.

Q. - Does the database only contain Independent Financial Advisers.

A. - It is the intention to only include Independent Financial Advisers. However as the status of a Financial Advisers can change we cannot guarantee that this is always the case.

Q. - Why should I use your database.

A. - There are two IFA Databases available in the UK. We are less than 10% of their price.

Q. - How often is your Database updated.

A. - Infrequently! This is not our core business. We do update on information received from renters.

Q. - How old is the database?

A. - We started to compile the database about 6 years ago. It is added to monthly but out of date entries are only removed when we are notified by users. This means that a (small) percentage will be out of date. However this is reflected in the cost.

Q. - What format is your IFA Database.

A. - Excel Spreadsheet making it suitable for mail-merge and telesales campaigns.

Q. - How do you protect against unauthorised use or re-sale.

A. - We insert up to 5 seeds in each database downloaded. These people will report each time they are contacted. We protect ourselves rigorously and will know the source of each database.
